TEN DAYS RWANDA DICOVERY SAFARI

Day 1: KIGALI
Arrival in Kigali – welcome by your tour guide – check-in at hotel afterwards go for Kigali city tour.

Day 2: KIGALI - NTARAMA - AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Ntarama – visit the genocide memorial – transfer to Akagera National Park – boat ride on Lake Ihema
Overnight at comfortable Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 3: AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK - KIGALI
Game drives + Pastoralist heritage experience.
Overnight at recommended hotel in Kigali.

Day 4: KIGALI - NYANZA - BUTARE
Transfer to Butare – visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi and other many historical sites on route – visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza and National Museum. Optional visit to the women drumming group.
Overnight at Gisakura Guest House.

Day 5: NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK
Morning visit of Nyungwe National Park for primate viewing and later a visit of tea plantation. In the afternoon, optional Visit of the market and Handcraft association.

Day 6: NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK - KIBUYE
Transfer to Kibuye with, en route: visit Bisesero genocide memorial, Kibuye church and Nyange school genocide memorial.
Boat tour to Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace.

Day 7: KIBUYE - GISENYI - LAKE KIVU
Transfer to Gisenyi and visit the fishing village, hot springs, DRC-Rwanda border (Gisenyi town) and relax at the lake side in the evening.
Overnight at recommended hotel on the shores of the lake Kivu.

Day 8: RUHENGERI - PNV
Transfer to Kinigi – experience traditional dancers and learn about Rwandan drumming, singing and dancing – Extra: learn about Rwandan cooking in a local family, visit street kid project.

Day 9: TWIN LAKES
Visit twin lakes that lie on the slopes of the virunga massif and thereafter visit women cooperatives producing handicrafts out banana of fiber and acquire lessons in sorghum and banana beer production.

Day 10: KIGALI
Visit selected humanitarian projects like orphanages, child headed homes, widows of genocide and HIV/AIDS, Street kids, former prostitutes etc and afterwards go to the crafts market at CAPLAK and buy some souvenirs. Later transfer to the airport.
